Renewable Energy. Rapid Turnaround. Ready for Deployment.

ESS Power Store provides a dedicated BESS charging service for mobile and portable Battery Energy Storage Systems at our CleanTech Hub.

Designed specifically for the growing use of battery power across construction, infrastructure, events, film & TV and temporary power applications, the facility provides a practical alternative to charging mobile BESS equipment from conventional grid connections, roadside EV chargers or diesel generators.

Our approach is simple: generate renewable electricity onsite, store it, and use it to recharge BESS equipment ready for its next deployment.

BESS Charging Powered by Solar

The CleanTech Hub has been developed around onsite renewable energy generation and large-capacity battery storage.

Solar PV installed across the facility generates renewable electricity throughout the day. Rather than relying solely on electricity being available at the exact time a BESS needs charging, surplus solar generation can be captured within our stationary high-capacity battery storage system.

This stored energy can then be used to recharge mobile BESS units when required.

Solar PV → Battery Storage → BESS Charging → Deployment

This creates a highly flexible charging infrastructure where renewable energy generated onsite can be stored and made available for charging throughout the working cycle.

The result is a cleaner and more controlled method of preparing battery systems for their next job.

The CleanTech Hub

The CleanTech Hub is the operational centre behind our BESS charging service.

It combines onsite Solar PV, approximately 400 kWh of battery storage capacity, DC fast charging and multiple electrical charging outlets to support a wide range of battery systems.

Unlike a conventional EV charging location, the facility has been designed with BESS equipment and temporary power systems in mind.

This means we can accommodate equipment ranging from smaller portable power systems through to significantly larger mobile BESS units.

Multiple systems can also be connected and charged, allowing fleets of batteries to be prepared for deployment rather than relying on individual sequential charging.

Charge Multiple BESS Units

For BESS operators, one of the biggest operational challenges is turnaround.

A battery returning from site may need to be charged, checked and redeployed quickly. Where several systems return simultaneously, available charging infrastructure can quickly become a bottleneck.

Our CleanTech Hub has been designed to address this.

With multiple charging points, different outlet configurations and stored energy available onsite, we can support simultaneous charging of multiple BESS units.

This makes the service particularly suitable for:

  • Mobile BESS hire fleets
  • Construction and infrastructure projects
  • Film and television productions
  • Events and temporary power
  • Utilities and maintenance operations
  • Mobile welfare and site facilities
  • EV and equipment charging systems
  • Battery-powered plant and machinery
  • Temporary power contractors
  • Organisations trialling diesel-free site solutions

Faster BESS Turnaround

BESS utilisation depends on availability.

A battery sitting uncharged at a depot isn't generating value and cannot replace diesel equipment on the next project.

Our charging infrastructure is therefore designed around rapid turnaround and redeployment.

Units can arrive at the CleanTech Hub following a project, be connected to the appropriate charging infrastructure and prepared for their next deployment.

Where equipment supports higher charging rates, our infrastructure can take advantage of these capabilities to reduce charging times.

For fleet operators, this provides the opportunity to improve equipment utilisation and reduce the number of batteries potentially required to maintain operational availability.

An Alternative to Roadside Charging

Using public EV charging infrastructure for mobile BESS equipment can be expensive and operationally restrictive.

Charging locations may not be designed for trailers or larger battery equipment, access can be difficult and operators may need to wait while the equipment charges.

The CleanTech Hub provides a dedicated alternative.

Because the infrastructure is specifically designed around battery storage and mobile energy equipment, charging can be planned around the operational requirements of the BESS rather than the limitations of a public charging network.

This can provide a lower-cost and more practical charging solution than repeated roadside charging, particularly for fleet operators and businesses using BESS equipment regularly.

Multiple Charging Options

Different BESS units require different methods of charging.

The CleanTech Hub incorporates a range of charging infrastructure to accommodate different equipment sizes, power requirements and connector types.

This includes:

DC Fast Charging

For compatible equipment requiring higher charging rates and rapid turnaround.

Three-Phase Charging

Suitable for larger commercial and mobile BESS systems.

Industrial Outlets

Providing flexible charging options for equipment using common industrial power connections.

Standard AC Charging

Supporting smaller portable battery systems and lower-power charging requirements.

This flexibility allows ESS Power Store to support equipment from compact portable power systems through to larger mobile battery storage platforms.

Renewable Charging for Cleaner Projects

The environmental benefit of deploying a BESS can be undermined if the battery is repeatedly recharged using diesel-generated electricity.

Our objective is to create a different energy cycle.

Generate with solar. Store renewable electricity. Charge the BESS. Deploy clean energy to site. Recharge and repeat.

By increasing the proportion of charging supplied from onsite renewable generation and stored renewable electricity, businesses can reduce dependence on fossil-fuel-based temporary generation and support wider project decarbonisation objectives.

For customers undertaking carbon reporting, trials or diesel-displacement programmes, charging data can also form an important part of demonstrating how temporary power is being supplied.

Supporting BESS Fleets

Our charging service isn't limited to ESS Power Store equipment.

The CleanTech Hub has been designed to support different makes, capacities and configurations of compatible BESS equipment, subject to electrical and charging requirements.

This creates the opportunity for businesses operating their own battery fleets to use ESS Power Store as a charging and turnaround hub.

Services can include:

BESS charging | Fleet charging | Renewable charging | Rapid turnaround | Equipment checks | State-of-Charge monitoring | Charging data | Deployment preparation

For businesses moving from diesel generation towards battery-based temporary power, the Hub can become part of the operational infrastructure needed to make that transition practical.

Charge. Deploy. Return. Repeat.

The future of temporary power isn't simply about replacing a diesel generator with a battery.

It requires the infrastructure to charge, manage and redeploy those batteries efficiently.

The ESS Power Store CleanTech Hub provides that infrastructure.

With onsite Solar PV generation, large-capacity stationary battery storage, multiple charging outlets and DC fast charging capability, we can help keep mobile BESS equipment charged and ready for its next deployment.
